ROMAINE LETTUCE If you use the bottom of a lettuce you can grow a new romaine lettuce. You have to place the stems in a ½ inch of water and after a several days new roots and leaves will appear. After that, transfer the lettuce into soil. The same method can be used for re-growing cabbage. 2. BOK CHOY Put the root ends in a water and put it in a well-lit area. Let it stay like that for about  1-2 weeks, and After that you can transfer them to a pot with a soil. 3. CARROTS Place the carrot tops in a dish with little water. Put the dish where is well –lit, window sill is ok. Carrot greens are a little bit bitter, but they make perfect salad combination with vinegar and garlic. 4. BASIL Put the basil cuttings, the one with stems about 3-4 inches, in a water. Put them directly on place where the sunlight is. When the roots will grow to 2 inches long you can relocate them to pots. You have to change the water very often. That way you will avoid slimy basil plants. 5. CILANTRO Put the stems in a cup of water. When they become long enough, relocate them in a pot with soil. They have to be placed in a room with ample lighting.
